Meri Bassai is a very popular Nepali comedy series. Aired on Nepal channel began on 2006. Sitaram Kattel is the script writer, co-director and one of the major actors in the series. The video is a small part of one of the series of the series. The video is not only funny but very educational too. This episode tries to represent the real problem that was being faced by Nepal at the time and still is present in a less amount.
The topic is strike. In the beginning of the video a man is shown talking on the phone. He is saying that there will be strike and a chaos because a person from his party got arrested. The episode is trying to represent the problem but in a very funny and amazing way. The man later goes to a non electric cable car to cross the bridge.
Magne budo is the one who runs the cable car. The man goes towards him and Muiya calls him and asks if he wants to do insurance since there were chances of people dying after falling from the transport. The man gets ready at first and pays the money but later goes back and takes the money back.
He rides the cable car and Magne Budo gets called in the middle by his wife Muiya in the middle. She whistles while they are half way and says that there was a strike so they could not go further. They wait for a moment. Mangne Budo even charges him Rs.200 as waiting charge.
Later Muiya again informs them that the strike was over and they reach the other end of the river. The man pays the price of riding the cable car and also the waiting charge. Then Magne budo looks on his face and says that he heard all the conversation he was having on the phone. He returns the man’s money back and asks him not to do unwanted strikes.
