Mira Rai and her running skills
A young girl who came capital Katmandu from the remote area of Nepal, Mira Rai always dreamed of being a successful sportswoman. And all she had is the capacity, strength and skill to run. Being a Nepali village girls one the member of Maoist, mira has out up her name in the worls recognized Moutain runner.
Mira Rai from Bhojpur one of the remote distrivt of Nepal, left her school when she was fourteen. But now she has been doing self study in Kathmandu. But living is hard on capital and so it became for her too. But she does not seems to be from those who lose hopes easily. Though having her hard journey from village girl to a moist activist to runner, she is one of the successful mountain running. The one who have seen her running has prasied her as described it as like a bird flying or elf living in the jungle.
In the 50 km race at the Himalayan Outdoor festival she shows how she fast she can run on the hills. In the even where few female were ready to participate, Mira stoopd up to run in that bad weather but became the first women to finish the race though the marks in the trial was washed up. There was where she was praised her and recognized her as runner. Mira never had know that there was the psort called ‘trail running’ and also had not run more than 21 km before.
Her runs did not stop right there but she has made Nepal Proud wining 80km marathon in France. She finished the trail in 12 hours 31 minutes 12 seconds in women categories. With this success she want to never stop running but want to keep on running. Well it is unfortunate that Nepal has recently recognized a star in the medow. Even now she is struggling with the life in capital. many organization are trying to help her and raising fund for her so that she can run further more so she can make Nepal proud.
