A 58 year old Asian elephant lives at the Perth Zoo of Australia. Tricia the elephant is content wallowing in her mud pit, sleeping under the stars and tucking into a special birthday cake made of bran and fruit. In spite being 58 years in age she has a heart of a child and is a great artist. She is an artists and her art work are sold at the zoo from $100 to $1000 depending on the size.
Painting is just one of the activities that they do to stay mentally and physically fit. First they do some exercise and after that is the soccer match. as shown in the video they are seen kicking balls and playing with each other and even other humans. They are then given a good scrub and are let to take a dip in the pond. The elephant Tricia is very obedient and is seen following all orders of her care taker.
She then starts to get creative with a different
kind of art work. Tricia is a main part of the zoo and is also a local celebrity. Tricia is known to use her brush to make all her art work and sometimes even blows paint through her trunks to make an art work. According to the zoo, elephants are natural artists and are known to draw with sticks on the dirt in the wild.
Tricia first arrived in Perth from Singapore in 1963 and is the zoo’s longest resident.
